Two spots for two: backyard garden or a table inside

We have two outdoor areas – and they feel completely different in the evening.

The backyard garden is our quietest place. Away from the street, with a large tree in the middle, plants all around and lanterns glowing warmly after dark. If you are looking for a restaurant with a garden in Leipzig where you can talk quietly, this is your spot.

The terrace on the street side is the opposite: here you sit with our “Mami Viet” lampions behind you and watch life go by in Lindenau. Lovely if you like your evening a little livelier.

And if the weather doesn’t play along, inside you’ll find a wooden ceiling with warm lampions, a brick wall and tables with fresh flowers. That, too, makes for a very cosy restaurant for an evening for two.

Your evening, hour by hour: from happy hour to the last drink

Not sure how to plan the evening? Here is a schedule that works beautifully with us:

17:30 – arrive and toast. You arrive, park for free outside and settle into the garden. The first happy hour runs from 17:00 to 18:30, with drinks from 5 € – cocktails, wine, long drinks, aperitifs and spritz. Add edamame (6 €) or summer rolls (6 €) to nibble on while you take your time with the menu.

19:00 – the main course, chosen together. Now it gets serious. Either you each pick your own dish – or you share a sushi menu and taste your way across it. More on that in a moment.

20:45 – dessert and round two. The second happy hour starts at 20:30 and runs until 22:00. Perfect for winding down with a dessert and one last drink: Chocolate Lava (8 €), Mochi ice cream (8 €) or Black Rice (7 €) – all three vegetarian, all three great for sharing.

That gives you more than three hours together without ever feeling rushed. And since we are open until 22:00, you can carry the evening on into Lindenau afterwards.

Cocktails for two: what to raise a glass to

We make our cocktails ourselves – fresh, nicely presented and without pre-mixes. A few classics from the list:

• Mojito – 8 €: fresh mint, lime, crisp. The opener that always works.
• Maracuja Mojito – 9 €: fruitier and a little sweeter.
• Mai Tai – 9 €: strong and tropical, the drink for a long evening.
• Snow White’s Kiss – 9 €: light and soft, a lovely aperitif for two.
• Ann-Marie 19 – 8 €: our house drink.
• Whiskey Sour – 10 € and Negroni – 10 €: for anyone who likes it drier.
• Long Leipzig Ice Tea – 10 €: our nod to the city.

If you’d rather toast without alcohol, our homemade drinks are 6 € each – for example Lemongrass, Ginger Lemon, Maracuja or Mango Lassi.

Sushi menus for sharing: food that brings you together

Nothing gets a date talking faster than a plate in the middle that you both eat from. That is exactly what our sushi menus 1 to 14 are for – from 12 € to 90 €, depending on how hungry you are.

• For a quiet evening for two: a mid-range menu plus two drinks.
• If you want to celebrate properly: the large menus at the top end of the list – they arrive as a platter and make an immediate impression.
• Vegetarian: sushi menus 1 and 2 (12 € each) are vegetarian.

Prefer something warm? Then these work well for dinner for two:

• Grilled prawns – 21 €
• Grilled salmon fillet – 20 € or crispy salmon fillet – 20 €
• Flugente (roast duck) – 19 €
• Bun Vit Nuong – 19 €

Vegetarian for two: a date night entirely without meat

A great many of our guests eat vegetarian – which is why it isn’t an afterthought here but its own part of the menu. For an evening for two without meat, you might try:

• Garten Gold – 15 €
• Mamis Tofu – 15 €
• Mamis Veggie Reis – 15 €
• Großer Mami Salat Veggie – 15 €
• plus vegetarian starters such as gyoza (6 €), dumplings mix (6 €) or Mamis Glück (6 €)
• and the vegetarian sushi menus 1 and 2 (12 € each)

There are plenty of vegetarian maki rolls too – avocado, kappa, mango or inari at 4 € each. So you can easily build a whole evening around vegetarian dishes without it ever feeling like going without.
