Mami Viet – Sushi & Asian Cuisine is open Mon–Sun, Sundays included:

  • 11:00–14:00 – lunchtime
  • 17:00–22:00 – evening

In between, from 14:00 to 17:00, the kitchen takes a break. So if you want Sunday dining in Leipzig, plan for one of those two windows. Both work perfectly well spontaneously – though a quick call ahead never hurts, especially if there are several of you.

Our lunch menu runs daily from 11:00 to 14:00 – and yes, on Sundays as well. No special price, no exception, no small print.

  • Price: 10 € per main dish
  • Free with it: crispy mini spring rolls

That makes Sunday lunch relaxed: come by after a lie-in, a walk or the weekly shop, order your dish and pay the same fair price as on a weekday.

From the lunch menu you can choose, for example:

  • M8 Bun Bo Nam Bo – rice noodles with beef, herbs and peanuts – 10 €
  • M7 Udon Xao – stir-fried udon noodles – 10 €

  • M9 Großer Mami Salat – vegetarian – 10 €
  • Sushi Box 1–5 – each box 10 € (boxes 4 and 5 vegetarian)

If you want something smaller, start with M1 spring rolls (2 pcs) for 4 €, M2 Mamis Glück for 4 € or M3 Suppe ala Mami for 4 €.

Sunday evening in Leipzig: specialities, sushi and a long table

Our evening service starts at 17:00 – on Sundays too, and runs until 22:00. This is the time to take it slow: something to share first, then a main, then dessert.

To start (appetisers):

  • 1 Sommerrollen (2 pcs) – 6 €, vegetarian
  • 9 Edamame – 6 €, vegetarian
  • 7 Gyoza (4 pcs) – 6 €, vegetarian
  • 6 Mixed appetiser platter – 14 €, ideal for two to four people

House specialities (15–20 €):

  • S1 Bun Bo Nam Bo – 15 €
  • S3 Pho 34 – 15 €
  • S2 Xao Sa Ot – 15 €, spicy
  • S6 Bun Vit Nuong – 19 €
  • S8 Crispy salmon fillet – 20 €

If it is going to be sushi: our Sushi Menus 1–14 cover everything, from 12 € for a light bite to 90 € for a big platter to share. There are also poke bowls for 20 €, maki rolls from 4 € and inside out rolls from 8 €.

And to finish: D1 Black Rice for 7 €, D4 Mochi ice cream for 8 € or D3 Chocolate Lava for 8 €.

Eating vegetarian on a Sunday – and not as an afterthought

A lot of our guests eat vegetarian. That is why the vegetarian selection at Mami Viet is not a single line at the bottom of the menu, but a category of its own.

Vegetarian main dishes:

  • 27 Mamis Veggie Reis – 15 €
  • 28 Großer Mami Salat Veggie – 15 €
  • 29 Garten Gold – 15 €
  • 30 Mamis Tofu – 15 €

On top of that there are vegetarian appetisers such as Sommerrollen, spring rolls, gyoza, dumplings mix and edamame (6 € each), vegetarian soups (14 Suppe ala Mami 6 €, 15 Tamarind soup 7 €) and vegetarian salads (12 Mami green Salat 8 €, 13 Mamis green Golden Salat 8 €).

Sushi has plenty for you too: avocado, kappa, kanpyo, shinko, mango and inari maki are 4 € each, Sushi Menus 1 and 2 are fully vegetarian (12 €), and there is Crunchy Veggie from the fried sushi section as well as the Mami Veggie Futo.

Happy hour on Sundays too: drinks from 5 €

A Sunday evening deserves a relaxed ending. Our happy hour runs daily – Sundays included – and it runs twice each evening:

  • 17:00–18:30
  • 20:30–22:00

During those windows you get cocktails, wine, long drinks, aperitifs and spritz variations from 5 €. If you would rather skip the alcohol, our homemade drinks are all 6 € – for example Lemongrass, Ginger Lemon, Maracuja, Mango Lassi or Da Nang.

From the cocktail list, the Mojito (8 €), the Maracuja Mojito (9 €), the Mai Tai (9 €) and the Long Leipzig Ice Tea (10 €) are among the favourites.

So Sunday here is not just “going out to eat”, but a relaxed way to close the weekend – without having to head into the city centre for it.

Inside or outside? Both can be reserved

We have two outdoor areas and a cosy indoor room. On a Sunday you can pick where you want to sit:

  • The street-side terrace – out front on Merseburger Strasse, with wooden tables and our Mami Viet lanterns. Good if you like to watch the neighbourhood go by.
  • The quiet courtyard garden – with a tree, greenery and lanterns, away from the street noise. Ideal for a long Sunday meal.
  • The indoor room – warm wood, indirect light, comfortable benches. Perfect when it is too cool or too wet outside.

Sunday meals with family or friends

Sunday is the day everyone has time. That is exactly why families and larger groups often come together here on Sundays.

What helps:

  • High chairs are available – for the smallest at the table.
  • The menu is broad enough that everyone finds something: soups, noodles, rice dishes, sushi, vegetarian mains.
  • For sharing, the mixed appetiser platter (14 €) and the larger sushi menus work particularly well.
  • Reserving for the whole group is no problem – a quick call is enough.
